Site Software Updated

Posted by earobinson on May 27, 2012, 1:12 a.m.

The update from wordpress to my own site on GAE powered by django has been successful. As I said before I will be keeping the old site up so that I can access my old posts but I may migrate them over and remove wordpress completely. I hope that having my own custom site with my own custom code will encourage me to post more content online. One of the things I have created already is a google map that lets you leave a comment on the map at your automatically detected location if you are the first person from your ip to visit the page, I call it Around the World. The next thing I want to create is something that lets me make videos from flickr sets as I just got back from europe and I love watching my pictures scroll by at a super fast speed.

This blog is getting a software update

Posted by earobinson on May 24, 2012, 9:03 p.m.

For some time now I have been saying that I wanted to start coding in django on my blog. Over the next week I am going to be moving my blog to GAE using django. I am going to keep my old blog posts for now at http://oldblog.earobinson.org but all new posts will be on earobinson.appspot.org which will take over as the main landing page of earobinson.org in the next month.

Cheers
