I have added a More Info link that links to more info about ssh tunneling on the synergy website and that is a great ubuntu tutorial if you are worried about security. I found this tutorial on how to do it http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2007/04/16/update-securing-synergy-over-the-wire/. It is also in the man page for synergyc (the client side of synergy).
